Nowadays, communicating only with short text messages is not enough, especially when chatting with friends. Modern messengers and email services provide a few dull emoticons, but if you want more, you can use Iminent. It places a large amount of emoticons, sounds and animations at your disposal, which can be used on instant messengers, Facebook or in emails.

The application is free and it is available for all popular Windows versions. Its setup file is roughly 2 MB and it can be installed in no time. Before you start installing, you can choose to accept or decline a series of modifications to your default web browser. Besides the application itself, you can also install browser plug-ins, for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome.

Once installed, Iminent will launch automatically. You can find its contents when you start a chat session on Facebook or your preferred instant messenger or when you compose a new email. The application provides you with simple and animated emoticons, unicode symbols and various animations, based on cartoons, memes or other subjects.

While chatting with a friend, you can send animations, which are known as winks, just like the standard emoticons that come with your application. Most winks are displayed on the entire screen and you can preview them before sending. You can also find a series of prank animations, like drills coming out of the screen or monsters throwing all icons into the trash bin. In addition, Iminent allows you to send various greeting cards via email and watch online TV with your friend. A series of games are available as well, which you can play with your friends over the Internet.

Pros

Iminent provides you with new emoticons, sounds and animations for your instant messengers. You can also use them in your emails and on Facebook. The application is free and it can be installed almost instantly.

Cons

Iminent will place a large ad on Yahoo Messenger's chat windows. Besides that, your friend has to install the application on his own computer if he wants to see the new emoticons you send. If you are tired of the same dull emoticons on your chat application, you can bring life to your conversations with Iminent.
